The origin of the variety is not clear. It was named by the Englishman Lindley in 1831 as a Belgian variety possibly attracted by Major Esperen of Louvain. It came to Sweden in the middle of the 19th century and is now valued there as one of the best autumn bulbs. The male pear is a hardy variety. Heavy pruning can give rise to violent branch growth. Fruit thinning is often necessary due to fruit size and weight. Is a healthy and easy-to-grow variety. The fruit is medium-sized, on young trees slightly above. 6.57.5 cm high and 5.57 cm wide. The shape is slightly different. The shell is thin and rough, it is densely dotted with rather large, grayish patches of skin and sometimes has rust figures, especially at the shaft end. The pulp is white with a faint greenish tinge, especially under the skin and at the vascular strands; it is quite firm in the semi-ripe state but melts and is very juicy. The taste is sweet and aromatic. Picked during the second half of September.

Material

All our trees are 100% organic and grafted onto strong rootstocks (or as an exception on P60).

Form

We offer organic fruit trees in their natural form and the form the tree itself has chosen. We leave the actual shaping and trimming of the trees to the customer as they wish.

Climate zones

In principle and under the condition of good care, our fruit trees can grow in all zones in Sweden. Our guarantee (“1 year plant guarantee”) only applies to growing zones 1-3. Note that for growing zones 4-6, it is imperative to give the trees extra care – such as adding good soil and fertilizer, a warm and sunny (wind protected) location and good watering.
